THANK YOU MICHIGAN

for helping to make the Antibiotic Roundup a success!

This pilot program ended on April 25. But, we are already working on plans for next year's Roundup. Special thanks to everyone who brought medicines to a Meijer pharmacy for safe disposal. You told us that we need to keep this going year 'round and we're working to make that happen.

Here are some tips that can help you take your medicine appropriately:

  • Don't demand an antibiotic – ask about other ways to help relieve
    your symptoms
  • Never take an antibiotic for a viral infection such as a cold, cough or the flu
  • If your healthcare professional does prescribe an antibiotic, be sure that you are comfortable taking the medicine exactly as directed
  • Take ALL of your antibiotic, even if you start feeling better
  • Don't take old and expired antibiotics or antibiotics prescribed for someone else, because they may not be the right treatment for your illness
  • And, when picking up your prescription, make sure that you understand exactly how to take it.   Your pharmacist will be more than happy to give you advice.
